Sheriff’s Office Warns Citizens of IRS Scam


Pueblo, CO: The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office is warning citizens of a recent telephone scam where a caller poses as a representative from the IRS or a Sheriff’s deputy and threatens the individual with a warrant if they do not respond to a request for payment. The Sheriff’s Office has received calls recently from residents reporting calls they have received from an individual claiming to be from the IRS or the Sheriff’s Office. The caller requests gift cards be purchased and sent to them or they will be issued a warrant.
