Small Fire Quickly Extinguished at Pueblo County Jail


Pueblo, CO: Pueblo County Sheriff’s detention deputies quickly extinguished a small fire in the Pueblo County Jail this morning. The cause of the fire was a result of maintenance work being done in a wing of the tower portion of the aging jail. Jail operations were not hampered by the incident and no one was injured. Maintenance crews were welding in a wing on the third floor of the jail at about 10:15 a.m. when insulation caught fire. Detention  deputies quickly put out the fire with extinguishers. Pueblo Fire responded and confirmed the fire was out.
