Captain Leroy Mora is a 25+ year
veteran law enforcement officer and started his career with the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office in 1994. Captain Mora has served as a:
- Detention Deputy
- Patrol Deputy
- Civil Fugitive Detective
- Detective Sergeant
- Patrol Lieutenant
Captain Mora has served on both the Patrol and Detention tactical teams and has been a Defensive Tactics instructor for over 17 years.
Captain Mora was promoted to the rank of Captain in August of 2012 by Sheriff Kirk M. Taylor. As Emergency Services Bureau Captain in 2013 to 2014, he was instrumental in the assessment of policies related to Emergency Response and Communication. In 2015, he was transferred to the Detention Bureau where he served as Captain of Operations. In 2017 Captain Mora was transferred to the Law Enforcement Bureau, where he currently serves as Captain over the Investigations Unit.
Education & Training
Captain Mora proudly served over 20 years in the Colorado Army National Guard and retired as a First Sergeant in 2006. Captain Mora earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from Colorado State University-Pueblo. Captain Mora is a graduate of the 255th session of the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI
