A Community Organization for Victim Assistance (ACOVA) has been established to serve victims of crime and circumstance in the Pueblo Area. ACOVA assists victims, witnesses, their families and friends following an incident or a crime. ACOVA provides on scene crisis intervention, referrals, and follow-up. Please feel free to contact ACOVA at 719-583-6434 or 719-553-2460 with any questions you have. Community awareness programs about victim services to agencies, schools, and other groups are available.

ACOVA has been established to serve all victims of crime or circumstance, regardless of ethnic, background, religious persuasion, financial status, community standing, age or gender. We are committed to ensuring the rights of victims and meeting their needs by offering support and information regarding appropriate community resources.

We assist victims following a crime or incident by providing:

  • Immediate on scene crisis intervention with victims and families
  • Information on Victim Rights and criminal justice system
  • Safety planning
  • Referrals to supportive agencies, i.e. victims' compensation, or judicial system
  • Follow-up as needed

ACOVA works with all local law enforcement agencies, all hospitals and the District Attorney's Office.
